Prof. Hemmati's research interests are in the area of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as a tool to study the physics of turbulent wakes. Specifically, his research focuses on topics of aerodynamics and hydrodynamics, bio-inspired design, alternative energy systems, and turbulence. He has also started a new research initiative in the area of cardiovascular flows.  His research strategy is designed to address technology development and fundamental study of fluid flow.
